Default LS1/T56 Mustang track results

Finally got a real 1/4 pass (a few actually) tonight! Air was good, 60 degrees with slight breeze. The track was not prepped well but it was a little test & tune, no biggee.

1st pass:
60' 2.13
1/8 7.95
MPH 96.24
1/4 12.02
MPH 121.20

2nd pass:
60' 1.90
1/8 7.68
MPH 98.88
1/4 11.74
MPH 121.96

3rd pass...well let's just say I had a technical malfunction
I lit both pre-stage bulbs and for some reason it automatically redlit and started the clock, because I didn't move forward that I could tell...but I went for it anyway as I was lined up against a good friend and didn't want to waste a pass...besides I still ran him down before the end of the track to beat his 11.74 @ 114.53 with a narrow margin of victory at only .0117 second...too fun!
60' 4.01
1/8 9.77
MPH 97.07
1/4 13.80
MPH 122.25

The car weighs 2720 lb without driver and 1/4 tank of gas. I weigh 215 lb. Engine is a 2001 LS1 with an LS7 clutch, MS4, 1 3/4" LT's, ported stock TB, and a fender mount CAI. The tune is canned a la TSP. It runs fairly well but could use some tweaking. Probably needs injectors and who knows what else...I just got the tune today and trailered it to the track, so I didn't have a chance to put any miles on it first. Running a 275/50/15 MT drag radial, but it just wasn't a good hook tonight for anyone. It's also tossing a code for the 1-4 trans upshift solenoid, which is odd since it's a T56 Anyone have any thoughts on that?

All in all not bad for the first runs, more to get out of it I think

2.13,1.90? I would say they need to prep track. I think theres alot more there 1.90 is pretty good but i think you could get it better. Nice runs though.

Yup the track was not hooking well, there were alot of trucks and idiots rolling through the waterbox without a burnout, it just wasn't ideal.
More importantly though, I have the car slammed at the moment as the coilovers are all the way down, and the shocks are fairly stiff. There wasn't much weight transfer happening, which is also hurting the 60'. Any launch over 4000 rpm resulted in more wheelspin, and 2nd gear shift got loose each time. Basically my suspension is not properly set up for what I was doing. I just wanted a good baseline run since it's the first time I've been able to get it to the track with the LS1 running good I suppose the mph is indicative of what it could do with the right setup. I drive this car to work any day it's clear, so I don't want to go back to a racecar setup that isn't fun to drive (been there done that)...it's all good though. I'm pretty stoked, just want to work on it some more

Ohman........The tracks are going to be closed in a week or two. I know it's going to be at least 2 weeks before I get my clutch put in.

And you have to go and make a post like this .

All jokes aside , sounds like with some traction it will be pretty bad ***....That MPH rocks! That gives me a little more hope with mine.
If you head back to the track, please keep us posted!

Hyde,
That 1-4 solenoid code must be the skip-shift, did you take it off without disabling the diagnostic for it?

That's strange, it wasn't a problem until after TSP worked on the ECU to compensate for the cam. The first time they sent it back "tuned" the car wouldn't even start, despite the fact that the car actually ran fine before I sent it up Not only would the car not start, but it started tossing that code as well. Since my previous tune was fine I don't know what they did. Once they got it back to me the second time, the car ran fine but still tossed this code. I'll have to have it removed on the next tuning attempt (after a few more mods of course ) It doesn't seem to affect performance, just a glaring red light in my face.

Overall I'm satisfied with TSP's products, but somewhat disappointed in the service. I'm not a big spender either, just a little cam kit and tune so that might be responsible for the lack of attention to detail.

Just got back from vacation and got around to this thread. I remember you saying you hoped to get your PCM back to get a chance to take it out to the track on Friday and I gues you did...That 122mph is real strong and you should be able to get some 11.2x once you get it to stick.
