A/C compressor location on truck engine? I have installed a 6.0L truck engine in my '70 Impala, keeping the truck accessories. The A/C compressor did not fit in the stock location (low on the passenger side), so I had to remove it. I also use a Magnacharger, so high on the passenger side is a no-go.
Now, it looks like the only place where I could mount an A/C compressor is next to the alternator, on the driver side, using the alternator bracket.
Has anybody done this before?
What compressor have you used (I have the compressor from an Astro van which looks like it could fit)?
Does anybody sell a bracket?
Any other input?
