I saw this truck at the EMC car show. Even if it was a crappy day and not a very big turn out as in previous years. The truck is awesome looking in person!

Thanks. The weather was against us on Saturday. Friday and Sunday were great. It was my vote to use our rain day and do the show Sunday but I got out voted. Oh well. Still turned out pretty after noon. Lots of fun questions and comments on my old beat up truck. Its funny to watch their faces when they look under the hood.

There are a few trucks around town with the usual 350 and flowmasters, which was totally what i was expecting from your truck when i saw it. so i figured what the heck i would go look at it. well was i suprised! the motor just looks so flippin small under the hood of that thing man.

Nice truck!! You actually put an LS1 in that thing? What's going on brother? I ought to buy it from you since it's probably the cleanest 86 around.

Sup buddy? How ya been? As far as the purchase thing, all we need to do is fulfill the financial end of things and you will be the proud new owner! Sounds simple enough don't ya think?

Several of you have asked about price and if the truck is finished. All that is left is the a/c lines, a/c wiring and the gauges. See my other post about those clowns at Covans Classics for info on that. As far as the price... I would like to come somewhat close to getting most of my money back, an equal trade or a combination of both. I would love to swap for a nice hotrod with a back seat. Preferably LS powered. When I started this project I didn't have a need for a back seat. Now we have 2 children's car seats. I also didnt start out to build a truck this nice but it kind of snowballed. Those are the main reasons for selling the truck. So as far as what I spent...north of 25K and 2 years.
Now I know you seldom get all your money back out of these custom rides, so don't even bother with all the pm's explaining to me how this works. I have been building custom rides for years and am aware of how it works. Bottom line is this. This is a very slick truck that is built right and thats not cheap to do. There were no shortcuts taken on the restoration or the conversion. The paint work is very slick. This truck can be bought for much cheaper than you could build one of this quality for. If someone has a reasonable offer or a ride you want to swap then lets talk. If not I will ride in it. Thanks for the interest, Ryan

Bad *** truck Ryan. I am picking up an 84 C10 here in a few weeks I am looking to do a swap in. I am actually buying it for my 86 long bed as it has a ZZ4 crate motor that has never even been around the block with a brand new 700R4 for 3000.00 I can't buy a ZZ4 anywhere that cheap. I am just praying the wife will let me keep this shortbed.

All I have is respect.

I'm looking at possibly dropping a new motor and trans. in my '86, hopefully, in the near-er future. I started out thinking about it (LSx) just from a hot rod standpoint; I've seen several trucks with the LSx motor and yours by far serves as an inspiration to do it right. Well done.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. As far as the basics, just spend some time here and on a few others and you will know all you need. Get the video from Street and Performance. It has a lot of good info.

Default Finally finished!

Well guys the 86 is finally finished and I am very pleased. The LS1 is very impressive. Plenty of power and you don't have to work on it like a hot rod. It gets about 17 mpg. I have showed it a few times and won my class at Super Chevy, a best engineered and several others. We got to make a few laps around Atlanta Motor Speedway after the show. That's the first time I have had it on a track. The more I get to play with this LS1, the more I like it.
Here's a few pics.

Thanks and No. Both colors are 98 Corvette colors. The blue is indigo blue.
