Default ECU and fuseblock plug disassembly

I searched up and down LS1tech for this. Is there any way to RE-wire existing ECU and fuse block connectors on the Gen3 vehicles? in other words, I want to take these apart, solder/crimp the pins to a longer piece of wire and put it back together.

either that, or I'll buy new. where do I get new stuff from?

The best way to do it is to cut the wire a few inches behind the pcm pin and then solder in a section and don't mess with the pin itself. Same for the fuse block assembly.

It would be a PITA but if you solder all the connections and use heat shrink to seal them up, it will work perfect. You can even order all the correct colors of wire, if you wanted to.

I have done it both ways.

1. I bought new connectors from a carquest autoparts store (I don`t know if they all can get them though, the one I bought them from was previously a indepenent).

2. You can cut the old wire off about 1/4-5/16" from the end of the connector, open the outer crimp tabs, solder the new wire onto the connector after you fold the old wire back over the inner tabs (lay the old and new wires together and solder them). Now crimp the outer tabs over the rubber seal/new wire. That method works well, but I don`t know if I would want to do that for an entire PCM of wires.

Thanks guys.

G- I dont think I will be replacing entire harnesses. My first post kind of made it sound that way. I have all the "guts" from a 99 silverado going into a 93 2dr fullsize blazer, so most likely the only things that will need to be extended is the rear high mount stop light, dome lights, and rear speakers, which are going to an amp anyways. I'm TRYING to keep everything as stock as possible... which is going to be easier since the GMT800 dash is going in there too

the dash swap is turning out to be a little easier than I thought it would. still tough, but it looks like the HVAC from the old truck can be maintained with a little bit of "creativity"
