Default Exhaust manifold

Which exhaust manifold fits closest to the block, especially on the passenger side? I really do not want to run headers if I can get stock manifolds to clear the frame.

I am putting the ls1 into a 1939 Chevy. The frame rails are pretty close together. I boxed the frame on the drivers side and it is not too bad. The passenger side is Very tight even with the frame boxed. I was hoping some other manifold might run closer to the block.

I have a set of ctsv manifolds. The are very close and hug really tight to the block. Here is a pic of them. If interested we can work out the details. Josh

I've seen some recommendations for sanderson 'blockhuggers' from a guy (SteveVanS) who put an LS1 in an e30 BMW (late 80s, early 90s).

I'll probably give them a try in my car before I go with customs.

I used the Corvette early LS-1 "sheet metal" manifolds. They tuck in pretty tight and seem to flow well. Just another option for your old car. They fit great on a 1935 Ford.

The C6 LS2 manifolds also tuck in tight and are symmetrical.
