Default 5.3 in a 240sx

I'm wanting to start a project I have two 240sx's and my buddy has a 5.3 he pulled out of his truck and also a 4l80 trans. I was just wondering if someone already made motor mounts or am I going to have to make my own?

Just go out and you buy you some of the ls1 240sx swap mounts. They will work on the 5.3

check out silviav8.com

if you have a welder, it's not very hard to make your own mounts

and there's a lot more to fitting an LSx into a 240 than just buying mounts. the crossmember needs to be modified and the trans tunnel needs to be beaten in or even cut like I had to do.

not only that then you need headers and about 4,000,000 little things

p.s. all off the shelf mount kits are garbage right now.

Wait till we release ours. No notching and 100% bolt in fun! kit will have oil pan headers and mounts and you WILL retain stock ground clearance. and price will be pocket friendly.

oh then ive got some questions

what is the oil capacity of your new pan?
short or long tube headers?
wll it clear the hood on a s13?

and price of your "pocket friendly" kit? no disrespect because you guys do amazing work, but oil pan, mounts, headers, im guessing $1000 +

Pan will be 5 quarts, yes it clears the stock hood by over an inch, and the headers are long tubes. The kit should retail for right at 1000.00 for the first few kits and consiering the OTHER companys mounts alone sell for 600ish with no oil pan and you still have to cut the car to make it fit, i think we are in the ball park for a reasonably priced 100% bolt in kit, dont you?

you absolutely are making a reasonably priced full swap kit, my only concern is the oil capacity. people who "beat" on ls1's (road course, drifting) run 7 quarts to prevent cavitation, and now youve decreased capacity by 1 full quart against the gto pan.

i would consider trying to get a larger pan under it. a lot of people who buy your kits might be into the road racing or drifting world, and the last thing you want is some blown engines because of lack of oiling ability.

just food for thought.
