4.8 to 5.3
4.8 to 5.3 Will i be able to just put a 5.3 in my truck with out having to change anything. I am going to use my coil packs,intake. The motors are out of 2001 models the only diff between the two was the motors. The truck with the 5.3 was totaled but motor is good..............THANKS
if im not mistaken u will need a tune because the 5.3 is different
do u have the 5.3 pcm? if so use it

everything between the 4.8 and 6.0 will bolt up. I don`t know what will have to be changed to make the 80e fit, probably the driveshaft length and trans mount.
To make the 80e work you will have to change the positions of a couple wires and add a couple wires. You will also have to have the PCM re-tuned to control the 80e and 6.0l
