Hopefully someone will chime in here with the answers. I wish the pin out and description of PCM function were more descriptive in the manuals.

When you provide this diagram of following extension are you provided with a powerled so you can check that you have power when you connect the OBDII connecor within your car. Use pin16 for the +12V and pin4 or 5 for the ground. The best thing you can do is to foreseen a switch between both pins because some cars use the signal ground (pin4), and others the chassis ground (pin5), ...! This diagram can you also find on following site: OBDII Interface.

How true is this? so If our car only uses one why are we connecting both? shouldn't we just check which one we're using and disregard the second?

I would assume the signal ground is to allow your scanner/tuner to actually see when the PCM is switched on, separate from the data signal. This would only help the scanner determine if the PCM was working correctly. I dont see any harm from running both to chassis.

Default 2000 5.3 swap

[QUOTE=G-Body;10511806]The purple serial data wire comes from the LS1 PCM. If you look at the diagrams in the FAQ sticky you should be able to determine which pin it goes to. If not, you need to tell us what year PCM and wiring harness you are using so that we can tell you where to look.

Any idea where wires 20, 57, and 58 go? I cut out a few wires from the pcm and dipinned it as Lt1swap says but n the process I must've removed them from I have no idea where. I think it's powers to power pcm and green is to obd right or no? Also do you know what pin to tap into for starter
