65SSZ06 - I was scratching my head trying to figure out a simple way to mount and wire the ALT on my 6.0L going into my stang. Then I decided to use the mustang ALT because the wiring is already there. And Bam it hit me. Mount it to the tensioner tab!! Then today i find this post and you post up picks of the very idea i had.... I love this Forum

If you don`t need a clean looking flashy design build your own brackets. Thats what I did for my 4.3L chevette, I didn`t care how they looked, plus I don`t think anyone makes a 4.3L alt and waterpump only bracket set for a chevette. I just used 5' of 1/2" black iron pipe and a chunk of angle iron.

I welded a washer on each end of the pipe so that the bolt fit through it snugly. IIRC they were 3/8" bolts and I used 5/16" washers, I had to clearance a couple with a drill bit so that the bolt would go all the way in.
The brackets looked much better once I bothered to knock the slag off the welds (flux core) and paint it.

Glad to read that something you post can help someone.I wish I had seen these alternator relocation brakets 6 months ago.I bought a F body balancer and power steering pump with brackets for something like $35.Then read that I could not use them on my Chevelle because the alternator would hit my steering box.So I sold both on E Bay.Now I'm looking at $400 for C5 Corvette accessory drive parts and that does not include the PS pump or alternator!

I'm designing and making my own bracket. This was the prototype for the top. I'm going to be remaking the bracket you see, and starting and hopefully finishing the bottom bracket/tensioner.

cheap easy way to run only the alt and waterpump and raise the alt up to the top driverside using the fbody acc.
