Boy have things changed since the last time I posted

11/23/2008
Well, I'm back at the truck. We put the k-bosh on the turbo's right now. My buddy and I want to just get the truck running first. Be able to drive it this coming summer and get all the bugs worked out. We still have alot of work to do to get the bastard out on the road.

We purchased a 12.0:1 comp 370 from a friend that was spraying a 300 direct port shot on it, in a 3800lb firebird running 9.8x@14x. NA on the nitrous tune it went 11.4 with a nitrous converter. The engine is a iron 6.0L block bored, stock crank, eagle rods, diamond pistons. patriot perf stage 3 heads. Close to 500 at the wheels

So we will be switching to a NA YANK converter and running the car NA, with a turbo 400 behind it. Hoping to purchase a set of Current Perf headers once I see they have started shipping.

I picked up a 8.8 ford rearend that we'll be installing right away. Have the driveshaft already. Right now I've been boxing in the frame just for added strength, The engine oil pan was very close to the cross member so I have modified that also.

Thats the updates and more should come, The turbo is still in the minds just waiting on getting a running truck first.

1/14/2009

Finally received my motor plates, Waiting on the CP long tubes to set the engine up with the motor plates. I'm exciting to hopefully get this thing moving along more....

1/31/2009

Finally some progress!! We got the headers mid week. So I got those installed and massaged the block and bell housing in a few areas to provide ample clearance. fit the engine and headers onto the frame and got the cab on with clearance there too. Cut the motor plates and got the fitted. Shot over to work and machined the plates to clean up the cuts and remove the excess material that was not needed :thumbsup Tommorow I'm hoping to weld my brackets to the frame and mount the motor plates to the frame.

2/10/2009

Started ordering more parts, and finishing most the Fab work. I made my own "NEW" Trans cross memeber. Needed it changed now that we have the Long tubes installed and see that they would have hit the Crossmember. I dont have pictures yet of that. I redrilled my 8.8 rear end at work for a chevy bolt pattern. We DID not narrow our 8.8 rear-end. Tonight we tossed my buddies FIKSE's on and they seem to fit perfect 17x11 with 315/35-17. So the Drag package we buy should also fit perfect. Which to find out is great news being I didn't narrow the rearend. Picked up a EdelBrock vic jr intake and elbow. Mounted the Transcooler in the back like BLACKX, Loved the idea. Cut the hole in the bed for the fuel cell. The fuel system should be ordered this week. It seems never ending but its fun To make progress. More to come. Thanks for looking and the comments

the way the engine got mounted and angled has allowed for perfect clearance for the steering shaft. That was a great feeling. I didn't check the clearance until after the motor plates were finally installed

2/11/2009
Shots of the trans cross member I made to add clearance for the exhaust. The brace farther back was for the mount for the 2 piece driveshaft. Now clearance for the the single driveshaft:thumbsup

2/21/2009

Well more parts are still coming in, Hopefully tomorrow I'll start and finish the driveshaft loop. Kyle got the 90mm TB, injectors, flywheel, plug wires in this week. With the TB on we were able to shorten the length of the cable to make it look a little more professional and cleaner. I then made a few parts at work to make the stock cable still work. We also pulled the carpet, seats, and rollbar out of the truck, cleaned the interior up and tossed some dynamat on the floor where the exhaust will be. Still need a few pieces to finish the whole floor.

Fuel system shipped friday so I'm excited to get that in and start plumbing that bastard!! I'm sure I'll post pictures:thumbsup

2/24/2009

got another item today. Hopefully by the end of the week, the converter will be in along with the everything else for the engine and trans so that its in for the last time... fingers crossed

Hopefully with everyone looking at this people might see things I've over looked.

Great looking project... Looks like you are doing things with a little TLC and time and not just thrashing stuff together... Always good to see people taking pride!

Well the bastard is alive, it starts and runs. Gauges worked fuel pump works, Just need to tune the bastard hopefully. Doesn't want to run very much right now. But I'm sure Tom will be able to iron that out, Being he tuned this engine once before.

Short little video

Well after getting bummed out and wondering why the hell it would not run off the pcm out of my car being it has 42# injectors. Just always remember the computer is smarter than you. Had to turn the vats off!

Something to get excited about now. Im sure it will get all buttoned up alot faster now!
