going to purchase a LS6

Re: going to purchase a LS6
If it doesn't come with the PCM and harnesses, you'll need them, too. Also look into what modifications need to be done to the car for proper mounting of the engine. It may not just simply drop in.

Re: going to purchase a LS6
to install an LS6 into your '69 Camaro (I'm doing the same thing to mine) you will need:
custom engine mounts (YearOne)
modified f-body LS1 oil pan and pickup tube (to clear rear-mounted steering assembly on your Camaro)
longtube headers for 1st gens and LS1/LS6(Stainless Works)
Painless wiring harness (YearOne)
1998 LS1 PCM (used, off this site) Painless only works with 98 PCMs
Electric fans for your radiator
Thats just to get the engine installed. Not sure which tranny you are going with.

Re: going to purchase a LS6
Thanks for the info. I've read on this site before about a better wiring harness than the painless. Like Nine ball said, Painless only works for 98 PCM's. I'm new at the LS motors, but I really think they have great potential.

why not go with an aftermarket ecu. I am going to be using a TECIII on my ls1. It using most of the gm sensors. www.getfuelinjected.com

Re: going to purchase a LS6
I am currently working on a 69 ChevelleSS I am also putting an LS1 in my car. In this months Hot Rod magazine they are currently showing steps on In stalling an LS6 Swap in a 67 chevelle. They are giving all the clearence mods and the part numbers you will need for the swap. If you need to know more, we can probably help eachother due to the fact that our cars have the same chassis. Thanks, Skaggs
