How much do front accessories go for?
Hi Everyone-
Long time lurker, new time poster here. I was wondering how much the various front accessories (f-body, vette, etc.) go for complete. I am doing all the research and reading now before I get into my swap and front accessories came up. Thanks!
Matt

The c5 accessories are pretty pricey.....CTS-V are probably pretty high too (never looked for them).
I paid $150 for a C5 power steering pump / alternator bracket (used from a yard in Ohio). Bought a 145amp truck alternator for it (for $50), and guess what, it doesn't fit. So I ended up machining an adapter to make the truck alternator fit (which was fun). The vette alternator is significantly more expensive (because there are ALOT fewer of them) and they make less power.
I used the LS2 style waterpump. I picked one up as a new take off for $90 off a LS7 crate motor that went to a Meziere electric.
I'm running a C5 harmonic balancer that came off of a LS6 crate motor, cost me $40.
I don't have an AC compressor setup, so can't comment on that.
I did a bunch of scrounging, and still spent $330, and that doesn't include the tensioner (which I think was $40 new) and some hardware (bolts and such). So, I'd figure on at least $400, and probably significantly more than that if you want a complete setup without having to do a bunch of legwork or want all new parts.

I paid a crap-load for GTO accessories, I bought brackets, bolts, everything. I put a list on here somewhere, part numbers and prices. I thought it would be cheaper than an aftermarket kit, but it wasn't (I had a 25% discount too). Save yourself the hassle of piecing it all together and buy a kit or get it from a junk yard.

Sorry, the way I typed that wasn't all that clear.
My $150 got me the bracket, the PS pump, the PS reservoir, the idler pulley that mounts to the bracket, and all the hardware. I thought it was a pretty good deal.
And the used power steering pump works great.

Id like to find a c5 bracket and ps pump for a reasonable price. I wonder though if i can still plumb my hydroboost to the c5 pump (im sure it wont be hard but ill have to get aftermarket lines and fittings and ditch the astro van lines im using now.

Should be able to plumb the hydroboost in without a problem.
I used Russell braided stainless power steering line for my application (for the high pressure side, regular rubber for the low press side). Needed a couple of adapter fittings, some 90degree elbows, and about 2 feet of hose. Easy to make up any line you can think of.

Yea i was mainly worried about the clearance behind the ps pump for the adapter and 90 degree fitting to clear the block / head. I dont have the pump or bracket yet so its hard to visualize. I keep scouting for a used one without much luck, im probably going to have to buy them new, but im going to make the alternator i had on the sy with the 4.3 (180 amp chrome) work on the c5 bracket.

The fitting for the pump output is reasonably easy. Output is basically horizontal from at the bottom of the pump, pointed straight at the passenger's side. So, a 90degree fitting puts it running straight down.
The reservoir was a much bigger pain. For my application, I ended up moving it (it still looks ugly) because it wouldn't fit in the stock location (which is in between the bracket and the radiator, space I don't have). Ultimately, I'm going to fabricate a new reservoir to fit in the location that I have available, but for now it works (just looks silly sitting at a compound angle).
Try searching Car-Part, that's how I scored mine. Most yards don't seem to want to pull them off the motor (we sell that complete with the engine), but some do. Get as much of the bits and pieces as you can (idler, tensioner, bolts, etc).

Thanks man. I can kinda get a visual off that. Im going to run a c5 radiator tucked up under the core support to buy me an extra couple inches up front. Ive got a water pump and tensioner, so i just need the bracket and ps pump. Wish i could just bolt the stock sy bracket & pump up but i doubt that will work.
