Default Noob VSS Question

Hey all-
Sorry for the noob question...I am putting a 5.3 in my 79 Jeep Cherokee. There is a Th400 behind it with a Quadrac transfercase. My question: Can I use the jagsthatrun.com 4000PPM sine wave VSS with this setup? I am using a cable driven speedometer and the VSS is only needed for the ECM/cruise control. I know that the original VSS is like 100K PPm but will the 4K VSS work with ECM changes? If not, what should I use.

For those curious, here is a pic of the work so far...

Thanks!

Yes, you should be able to use that sender as long as you recalibrate the PCM.

Only problem you might run into will be programming the pcm with the correct pulse per rev for the vss. HP Tuners will go all the way to zero in the settings but EFI Live will only go to 10, unless they have had a recent upgrade.

Is there a different VSS that would work better? Something with more PPM? BTW...was going to have wait4meperformance do the tuning. Not sure if he uses EFIlive or HP.

Wait4me uses/sells EFILive. I would give him a call and ask if he is able to go down to 0, or if he has any recommendations for a VSS.
