Some 5.3 conversion ?'s
Some 5.3 conversion ?'s Ok, I have done some searching and have not found an answer to one problem.
I am looking at swapping a 5.3 into my CJ7 which already has a NV4500 tranny. A 350 will bolt right up, but advance adapters tells me that the flywheel/clutch setup is not the same because of the diff crank. They are telling me I have to buy their $586 kit to give me a diff flywheel and the right clutch. It would seem to me that maybe I just need a certain flywheel for it and the right clutch to make it like the 350. Has anyone run into this and know about what I would need?

I would call Street and Performance in Arkansas ( www.hotrodlane.cc ) and speak with those guys to help get some direction. They have a write up with a 5.3 conversion in a Jeep Wrangler, but they use a 4L60E. Anyway, they've help me on direction for my swap in a 87 GMC and they seem to have a lot of experience.
