MSD 6ls I've got a 5.3 that I will be running the carb conversion on I was doing research on what ignition controller to run I know the edelbrock controller is made by msd but you can not program it you are limited to the pills and that the msd you can program plus it comes with pills Now the intresting part is that edelbrock lists the 5.3 on there application guide but msd just lists ls1 gen 3 engines will the 6ls with adapter harness 8886 work on a carbed 5.3

Look at the top two items on this page. It depends on which reluctor wheel your engine has, as to which box you need.

i have an edelbrock/msd timing box for sale for an ls1 if its any good to you? used once, comes with 6 different pills for timing. i'm upgrading to the fully prog 6010 version so i can map it to suit UK fuels. my car made 404bhp (hubs) using the curve no1 pill! you'd have to check if it suits your reluctor wheel tho.
