LSx into a..... NASH?
yep. thinking about doing a 5.3 swap into a Nash.... Metropolitan.
1954... hard top.
It's not a resto rod, it's a goof off project. I got the car cheap, and it's solid. has enough original parts to recoup most of the purchase price from ebay sales.
the 5.3 is pretty cheap and plentiful as we all know. Stock they made what... 250hp? Figure this car was 1800lbs off the showroom floor, would be surprised if it were any more then that when I am done, including the new motor. But even if it hit 2k lbs, it should still be a handfull of fun.
Anyone want to start bench building this with me? The car is 85" wheel base and 45" track width. Lets start with logistics of shoehorning. I know it can be done, I've seen a nash with a blown BBC in there, so anything is possible with enough time and money, right?

back in the 60's, we put a ford flathead engine in one, i think they called the motor a 60, it was a small flathead-been to many years and to many beers to remember a lot about it, i know with the short wheelbase made it kind of hairy to drive
kind of does me good to see all these conversions being done, like back in the day, we used what we had, no store bought stuff was available then
keep us updated if you do it-i go to the ocean city, md cruise every year, there was a guy who had a caddy motor in a renault

Any progress on this? I just bought my wife a 57' Nash Metropolitan hard top. Same plan as you, except with a 6.0L ( going to look at one tomorrow ) and pumped to 4-500hp. I'd like it to wheelie on the street if possable.

Yeah, but not so obvious. I like the idea of surprising the $%&* out of someone! My wife ( and it's her car, I just get to build it ) wants it farely quit, so I think I'll install electric cut-outs for when it's time to play.
