walbro fuel system problems NEED HELP!!!
walbro fuel system problems NEED HELP!!! I am going to lose my mind soon so maybe someone can shed some light on my situation.
Details- the feed side of the fuel line has a high flow filter then goes to the feed side of a walbro 255 inline pump which goes to the corvette style filter/reg then to the fuel rail.Everything is hooked up right and there are no kinks.
Symptoms- I turn the key and the car starts for 1/2 a second and stalls.
If I pour some fuel into the throttle body and start the car it
will stay running and have good power and throttle response.
When I shut it off it wont start and I have to pour fuel into
the throttle body again.
This is the second pump I put in this car and it hasn't left the driveway yet so I don't think its the pump.
Could it be the regulater,or is the pump losing its prime and having a hard time sucking fuel from the tank?
I even changed the sending unit in the tank and took off the filter on the sump. The gas tank is stock 69 camaro, and the motor is a stock lsx.

Well, the first thing is, I usually install my filter after the pump. Perhaps the pump isn't able to create adequate suction through the filter.

I don't think it's vats as because if I put gas in the throttlebody it fires right up and runs all day.The instructions told me to put a filter before the pump and after the pump.
What is your fuel pressure at the rail? I would start there? Will the pump prime when you turn the key on? It should run for a second or two. I would get rid of the pre filter.
As it was mentioned above, you need to find out what your FP is at the rails. If you're getting pressure there, then obviously you don't have a fuel supply problem.
As far as placement of the filter, I've never used a pre-filter before - my A1000 has been fine for over 30K miles.

Verdad Gallardo I think it may be the regulator because I put the feed line with no filter in a jerry can full of gas and it cranked right up.I then hooked it back up to the gas tank with no feed filter and it wouldnt start,I then put the feed back in the jerry can and it would not start.I then took the return line off put it in a seperate jerry can and turned it over and it filled the jerry can in 20 seconds and did not start the car.I dont own a fuel pressure gauge so I cant check it that way.How do you test the filter/reg?
I broke down and bought a fp gauge.0 psi when trying to prime the system without cranking,but the bypass at the filter is shooting fuel.I am assuming it is the filter /reg set up that is at fault.How does a brand new reg/filter fail??
