95 Impala tank for swap...
Is the sender and pump one assembly? Do I need them or if I'm replacing the pump anyway.. Would the replacement pump need to utilize some of the stock assembly parts?
In sort do I need to find a tank that is complete with internals?
Thanks!
Yes, the Sender and Pump works a one unit, Check out the Racetronix B-Body setup that includes a standalone wiring harness and a 255lph Walbro pump to be used with the stock tank and sender.
I'm planning the same tank swap and hitting the same problem. Finding junk yards sell the tank only. I'm assuming these are easier to find for our southern friends. I even posted on Impalassforum. Problem is gas tanks do not ship.
I am planning on running the racetronix kit. I haven't found out how much a new sender is yet. They are wear items though, so if not too much I may get that new also. Just sucks you will likely pay for parts replaced by the racetronix kit.
Anyone have a suggestion on where to get a new sending unit (cheaply)?

Maybe one of these link might help .. goog hunting..
For better searching, What year range will work?
Alsowhat models could I search by other than Caprice and Impala, some Buicks? Some Pontiacs?
The generation goes from 91-96, The 4th and final Generation for the RWD B-Bodys... so.. any of those years will work.
There is a 1/2" or so vent line on the rear side just above the fill port for the tank, I didn't know what to do with it so I plugged it. I hoped that the small vent by the sender would vent enough during filling. It doesn't, it gurgles and I can't get it very full.
I assume I need to use this larger rear vent. Where have people routed this to? I'm considering mounting / venting it back into the filler neck as close to the gas cap as possible. It would be venting to where the gas nozzle is stuck in to the filler neck..
Other ideas?

You can see it tee in to just to the right of the cap on this picture.

What about the vent line on the pump...one solution is to connect it to the evap line that goes first behind the rear seat, then up to the front corner with a charcoal canister. Is there another safe way to vent the pump/tank besides plumbing to the front corner? All my lines were removed during body-off, and replacing the vent line is pricey...

I use a B-Body Racetronic pump and wiring kit. It came with a Walbro 255 pump. You many as well as invest in a new pump now, if you can avoid a old failing one and have to take the tank down to replace it. (unless you build a access hatch as I did and had to use once already).
