LT1 to standarts SBC
1) No coolant flows through the intake manifold. That makes it tough to just stick it on to a regular SBC motor.
2) The LT1 PCM needs the optispark reluctor wheel for timing reference.
If you run an SBC, you could get a TPI harness/ECM/distributor (90-92 F-body, for example), run a Miniram style intake manifold, and it'd look pretty close to an LT1 motor. Though you'll need to run a low profile distributor, and probably have to install the motor from the bottom with the distributor already in the motor.
I think it can be done, but IMO it's probably not worth the effort.
