My guess: not LS1 at all.
There are only 4 bolt holes mating the tranny to the bellhousing. That reminds me of my 4-speed in my 79Z. Look at this PDF document for a Super T10:

Note the spacing of the 4 bolt holes.
That bellhousing to me looks like a bellhousing that allows for the use of a hydraulic slave for an older style transmission. Great idea.
Not sure what block it mates up to, looks almost like an SBC, but lacks a bolt hole on one side (but could have been ground off).
