We just did multiple spot welds and grinded it down. I'm thinking about painting the whole car a dark gun metal color now. It would be easier to clean and look really nice.

K the lagger is back with an update.

So we cut the firewall lip, drilled out and beat off the frame rail bracket, primed, and painted the engine bay, dropped the sub frame and removed the front suspension. Hopefully this week I can get the bushings all removed. Then I will hopefully sandblast the control arms, paint them and press the new bushings in. Gotta make a run to Samberg's shop so he can fab up a CTS-V DBW Pedal bracket for me.

Also gotta figure out what part of the heat shield I need to trim in the trans tunnel to have the JTR's clear. Then we will coat the trans tunnel and install the subframe and new suspension back!

PICS:
Firewall lip cut, Everything masked for primer.

Frame rail bracket removed.

Post Primer.

Post Paint.

Suspension off.

Old Tokico and Eibach combo.

The New Coilover Suspension!

Any updates on the car? I've seen a couple of youtube vids of this thing running... I'm seriously considering doing this swap as I had a ride in a ZO6 and ZR1 (lucky me!) two weeks ago and am hooked on the instant torque from these engines. Awesome combo man, white FDs are gorgeous. Subscribed and looking forward to updates

Wow I forgot about this thread but the car is near completion. I just have to take it over to Synergy for a tune and it should be kicking ***! It's running a 2010 6.2 LS3 now instead of the LS2.

Looks really nice.
Did you end up getting the LS3 from the same supplier?

Like your choice of license plates too!

holy ****-tarts wtf thats a monster motor, why the upgrade? (no problem (ha!) just wondering)

wow the car looks so good, glad you kept it white.
nice swap and way to keep it so clean with the painted and powder coated swap stuff, amazing detail work, really impressive to see.

how do you like it, as a guy who was big on turbo rotary motors, whats the thing like to live with... its ******* awesome isnt it? (rofl torque like crazyyyyyyyyyyyyy!)

Reason for the change in motor was because I didn't change out the Vette pilot bearing and I tried to mate it with the T56 and the block gave.... I tried to get it repaired but it still leaked. We must have pull the engine out of this car like 5 times.

Wow, that car is gorgeous, white FDs are so pretty. Will be one hell of a ride with the ls3. I personally got to drive an ls1 swapped one with a bunch of goodies today and that things hauls for sure. Dumb question: you running cats on that thing... how do you plan on dealing with the smog police? Reason I ask is because I'm thinking of going the same route (ls2/ls3). Congrats on getting the car running, I love it.

Nice, this car turned out damned sexy, I'd forgotten about it myself. When I saw the little ninja in the avatar I knew I had looked at this build before.
