Default Swaping V6-V8 Chevy Silverado

Hey,
Im looking into swaping my 4.3 V6 to the 5.3 V8 or 6.0 V8.
I belive they should swap right in being the same engine mounts.
What all will i have to change out?
Will my tranny work with these?

i really want to go big and do the 6.0 from either and esclade/silverado ss/2500.
But i just want to make sure it will fit directly.

Also if anyone knows some good websites to look some engines up that would be great. Currently im checking junk yards.

Any responose would be great!

Default v6 to v8 swap

I have a 06 silverado with 4.3 liter put in 5.3 liter.
Well the swap 2006 silverado 1500 W/T 4.3L to 5.3L is a very easy swap. All you need is engine, wiring harness,PCM,ac lines, both radiator hoses, heater hoses, and machine shop to make mounts for engine block(3/4" thick X 4" high X 6 1/2 " long) drilled and milled for mounting to block then move 1 1/16 " over and drill and tap for motor mounts. This will let you use the V-6 motor mounts and frame mounts with your V-8. Also you need to get a tee fitting 1/2" X 1/2" X 1/4" for the cooling line from throttle body to the over flow line from tank to radiator, then the O2 sensors are male plugs and the wiring harness is male plugs also, I used pins cut at 3/4" long and rubber tape then electrical tape to keep moisture proof. Also you have to get the electrical schematics to wire the cruise control. MAKES YOUR TRUCK NEW AGAIN, LEARN TO DRIVE ALL OVER

I do have one problem anti-lock brakes. The system works for about 75feet then it drops out and the service brake system comes up on the dash and the ABS & brake light on the dash come on. I know it is in the wiring. My 4.3 was cable throttle 5.3 is electric. Could any one tell me witch wires need to be hooked up. Should be from the old cruise control to the new PCM. The 4.3 was 2006. The 5.3 is 2005. HELP

I have a 1997 single cab short bed with manual 5 speed tranny and v6 vortec. I want to buy a donor truck with the 350 vortec and swap that into my '97 short wide. What all do I need to know and do besides swapping frame motor mounts and a bigger radiator?

Does anybody know if I can use the frame mounts and motor mounts from a v8 Silverado on my v6? I tried to Bolt the frame mounts from the v8 where the v6 frame mounts were and the passenger side fit but the driver’s side v8 frame mount was wider than the part where it’s supposed to mount on the frame. Can anybody help me solve this problem please?

the V6 frame mounts are completely diff than the V8 mounts. They have diff widths and spacing.

To install a V8 in a V6 Silverado u have to get the V8 frame mounts.
They have to come from the same style frame as well. 2wd frame needs 2wd mounts. 4x4 frame will need 4x4 mounts. They will not interchange.

I have done a few of these swaps over the years, so I know all the ins and outs! Pretty basic to swap. Get correct mounts, and everything else will swap right over.

Stock y-pipe will interchange, radiator will work, fuel setup will work with some tweaks, and the original v6 ecu will work with the correct tuning, and the V8 harness will plug and play. U will also need a v8 truck throttle cable.

Thank you for the reply! I do have the v8 frame mounts and motor mounts but I noticed the v8 frame mount on the drivers side didn’t fit. The frame mounts are from a 4x4 and the truck I was trying to put them on is a 2wd. Is that most likely the reason why they didn’t fit?
