hi ! i'm almost done with my carbed and cammed lq4 swap in my 84 cutlass supreme and i'm now in the wiring. so my question is, could someone help me plugging correctly the alternator. the truck plug have 4 pins but only 2 wires come out in the harness ! my cutlass have also 2 wires but with 2 pins. help would very appreciated because I don't want to put a second alternator !!
thanks ! José

i didn't found it but could someone had already done it before ???? i would like to know how to plug the wires. i've read that i may have to put an inline resistor ??? help with this would be very appreciated !!
most of the newer truck alt will require a pcm to control them,, i have had good luck using a 99 s-10 4cy alt on the truck brackets and it only needs a + wire to turn it on, 3 yrs on my s-10 and 2 yrs on my brothers 6.0l mabibu swap

Connect terminal B to a 1/2 watt 470ohm resistor, then connect the other end of the resistor to a switched 12V ignition + wire. OR you can connect the brown wire that used to go to your factory cutlass alt to terminal B, either way will work.
Now connect terminal C to a switched 12V ignition + wire.

The plug and/or alternator should be labeled as to which is which. But the brown wire will be terminal B and the other wire is terminal C (this wire is normally a grey wire) but I guess they could have changed it to yellow on some harnesses

i am in the middle of a 2002 lq9 swap and found your reply. just wondering if you had to mod the truck bracket to make the s-10 alt fit? if you have some pics that would be great. thanks for making this info available to everyone
