most of the newer truck alt will require a pcm to control them,, i have had good luck using a 99 s-10 4cy alt on the truck brackets and it only needs a + wire to turn it on, 3 yrs on my s-10 and 2 yrs on my brothers 6.0l mabibu swap

Connect terminal B to a 1/2 watt 470ohm resistor, then connect the other end of the resistor to a switched 12V ignition + wire. OR you can connect the brown wire that used to go to your factory cutlass alt to terminal B, either way will work.
Now connect terminal C to a switched 12V ignition + wire.
Now connect terminal C to a switched 12V ignition + wire.

i am in the middle of a 2002 lq9 swap and found your reply. just wondering if you had to mod the truck bracket to make the s-10 alt fit? if you have some pics that would be great. thanks for making this info available to everyone
