Are you useing a stock f body pan or a pan that has been cut. I got a ls2 vetter motor and the oil pan is in the way. which way should i go a stock f body pan or a cut f body pan?

An H3 Alpha 5.3 pan setup fits my '64 like it was made for it. I test fitted it during a mock-up, but don't recall if the pan was any lower than the crossmember.

Your LS2 Vette pan might need a little cutting and boxing of the crossmember, but it will offer the best ground clearance out of the lot.

I'll have to check in to that, I know my vette oil pan sits right on the crossmember and the motor mounts are no where near the frame mounts, larry from S&P said use a f body pan, but they arent cheap to just buy and it might not work. I dont want to have to do all that cutting to the frame

all i had to do was heat the frame and dimple it with a hammer in 2 spots on a stock f body pan. No cutting and boxing.

From all I have ever seen a fbody pan will work, some may require a little massaging on the crossmember or oil pan and others need nothing. good luck and be sure to make a build thread. My 63 wagon has been sitting idle for almost 2 yrs now, I need about $4K to fall in my lap lol

Update-

We are running the stock F-Body Fan on the LS2, it fits well.

The car is painted and looks sweet! We might not be able to fit the front 17x9.5" wheels afterall. They fit on my 62 Biscayne, but it's not looking so hot for this car...

The car was shot in white again. The motor (LS2) was $3,500 complete with 17k miles on it. The wrecked car I had was a car I used to own and had sold to a friend. She wrecked it and I was able to buy it back from insurance for $1,300.

I will try to get pics asap.

Hey brad love the duece. I'm currently doing a ls1 in my 1960 impala.
Quick question. Do you know how I would be able to install the Corvette big brake calipers and rotors??? Is there brackets made for our x-frames. I rather not use the CPP calipers even though they look great. I perfer the Corvette stamping. I have a stock rear end also, let me know thanks!!!

Yeah i got the f body pan, put it on and it clear just by a hair. I am now waiting in the cross member so that i can mock it better to get the real clearance

CPP makes an adapter bracket that should work for C5 calipers. I'd call them, not sure otherwise.

Kore3 is a lot cheaper. Or it was a few years ago when I was looking that direction. I never went that route as my project is just sitting and I hope to just get it back drivable this year.

I spoke with CPP Today.. said they only had their own brake kits and didnt have adapters... I have a 64 impala.

... and Kore3's kit is still in production for GM Parts.

I got my brackets from Kore3 for my 63. Would check them out. I believe CPP has there own rotors and offset that work with more wheels.

Do the Kore3's mount vette brakes?

CPP will only sell a complete kit... not just a bracket...

They mount C5 or C6 corvette brakes. I have 2008 Z51 setup for mine.
