Default what radiator to use in LSx swap?

I am helping a friend put a 6.0 into his 64 gto. Will there be any problems running an aluminum down flow radiator? I know new stuff is all cross flow, so I wasn't sure. Has anyone done this? He is on a budget, so trying to use stuff we have, and spending as little as possible. Thanks

I used a 94 camaro radiator for my 68 firebird swap. They are the thickest aluminum F-body radiators (thicker than the 95-97s and 98-92). They can be had cheaply with electric fans. I am not sure if it will fit a 64 gto. I dont see whay not. I was able to use factory LS1 hoses for it too. Not sure on the downflow part though.

If you already have a rad that fits your GTO, use it, it should work just fine. On my 70 Impala, I use the original rad, it works well. A trip to the local Pick'nPull landed me a pair of electric fans with their shroud from a late model Chrysler sedan that nearly perfectly covers the core area and there you are: simple, cheap, looking factory.
Of course, I do not know how the car will do in Death Valley in summer!!!
