I doubt it. In reality this entire swap/hybrid forum needs a revamp with many different sub-forums or sub-categories. There is so much information in here, but it is hard to find because it is just a free for all. I pm'd a few mods and admin's but didn't get a single response so I really doubt there is any interest in it.

I"m about to do a 80 TA w/ a LS1 / 4l80e ... I'd much rather have a carb (blow thru turbo) setup than EFI... I would really like to have some info to go off of!!

I vote yes too. I have a 5.3 theat hopefully will be getting bored out and some twins to put in my 85 TA. I even bought a new 600 double pumper for the project. Parts are kinda slow to trickle in at the moment with other things going on.

I'm on board. I have a 750 quick fuel on my 5.3. I took the carb road because of cost, and I'm more familiar with nitrous and carbs, vs. spraying an EFI system. Also I don't think the ECU was available with the core that I bought. That was also much easier to do on the dyno. My 5.3 to date was the first, and that I know of, the only LSX engine to ever run on a dyno in the state of Montana. LSX engines just haven't caught on around here. Poor folks don't know what they are missing!! I like the carb forum idea, are we going to touch on nitrous as well? Keep us posted.

It would be neat in LSx Carbed in section. Easy find solutions and more questions/disscuion. All of those guys would use that section often.

I have LS2 carbed on my '01 Camaro w/o computer controlled
I know this section are great helpful and discuss share about the LSx carb more than other forums I have seen.

It doesn't really matter to me but if we do get our own section I'm sure I'll participate.

So we need a sponsor to get our own section? Or do we just need a moderator to oversee everything and answer on a regular basis?

frankly,
i dont think any mods really think there is enough interest
to open seperate carburator forum specific to LSx engines.
it is lower priced than efi if done correctly and alot of race cars still use carbs. it would relate more t the budget or track buildup enthusiast.
since the gas prices are ridiculous now a days, i would assume at least in my own exp. the carb. car im building will not be a dd, mostly for track and other.

This site has an entire forum devoted to sbc/bbc guys. Isn't this ls1tech.com?? I don't see why we can't have at least a few subforums in this section. I am talking going beyond just a carb section too. How about a fox body, abody, 1st-3rd gen fbody and so on.

The way this forum is set up right now it is really hard to find specific info with out digging through a lot of threads that turn out to be dead ends, and don't dare start a new thread or you are looking at several people posting up letting you know to use the search. I guess we really just need a good clean up and some order instead of a free for all.

I bet if we had our own section, we'd pull more people to the "carb" side. I think there's a lot of people who don't even know we can put a carb on a LSx. I talked to one guy and he called me a straight up liar when I told him I had the same engine as his truck, but carbed. Several other people have given me that "yeah...right" look when I tell them about my swap. Our own section will atleast make people aware that carb is an option and that others have done it. It would also cut down on the posts we get about "should have gone EFI/carbs suck". Those guys wouldn't even have to see our threads.
