I am a heavy Nissan fan. One of my Z buddies is running the 240sx rear end in his z31 300zx. He makes 666whp and 580ft/lbs on the OEM 240sx rear end. He runs 1.47 60's.

You took the double wishbone IRS out of the rear which is more than capable of handling the 600whp you are planning, then are bummed that the car didn't handle well?

I was looking at the 4 link install and was shocked to hear you talk about handling. I thought you were doing a purpose built drag car (which wont handle well).

As a drag car, you have a very sick build going on there with HUGE potential!

As any form of a sport handling car, you downgraded by changing the rear end.

The R230 is a good diff, however it is only available in a VLSD. You can take the R200 in the 240sx and make it CLSD, VLSD or even put in a helical.

But comparing the R230 to the 9" in regards to strength is just a bad idea. The 9" has upgrades available for days and days. The R230... doesn't.

A 9" is so strong because the pinion is supported in the front and the back unlike most diffs, r230 is strong but not 9" strong not even close, Id put right there with an 8.8 though, but again there is a ton aftermarket parts for american diffs to make them stronger.

Holy SH;T you did the EXACT same thing Im planning on doing with my S13 next summer! But after reading the last couple posts im thinking about keeping the IRS. My plans are PT76mm, LS2, T56, and low 10s in the 1/4.

I would also like to know how it did at the track and how the progress of the turbo kit is going. Nice Build!

Are you aware of any drag front shocks for 240SX? I'm desperately trying to make my 240SX launch, I think 2.0+ 60' are a bit too much for 124mph car Can't make it hook on our crap tarmac where even 700HP AWD's spin all 4 tires
