Default I need some help with a 1998 Chevy truck

I just put a ls1 in a 1998 chevy truck. I used the carb setup with the msd box. I am needing info on the 1998 truck harness in order to run the stock gauges. Pinouts for this truck will be great if someone has them. The truck originally came with a 305 and a 5 speed. The computer plugs and such are still in the truck.

Thanks in advance!
Eric B.

I will as soon as I get down there to finish it for him. I'll be heading that way in about 2 weeks or so.

1996 and 1997 are supposed to be the same but there was a couple wires that are different on my 1997 swap.

I have read that 1998 are a lot different from 96 and 97.

As far as the 1999+ 2500's I have no idea if the 1998 are the same.

I can email the pinouts I used if you want to pm me.

Good luck

Default Your best bet...

is to buy a GM Factory Service Manuel from E-Bay. This is what I did. It has everything in it that you will need & more. Invaluable. 1996 , '97 & '98, were transition years for GM trucks & each of those years is a little bit different in wiring, computer & controls. They are a two volume set, but I think its just Volume 2, that is all you need with regards to the wiring, connections, etc...
