I need to know how much it would cost to swap in a ls1 into my 95. i already have a built 4l60e, but i need to know the total, including a basic stock ls1, harnesses, brackets etc. All help is much appreciated!

You won't get much for $3000.
A good stock engine that does not need a rebuild will cost $1500-$3000 depending on how complete, accessory drive parts add up quick, $400 if the donor doesn't have it all.

After market harness $700, rework stock harness if you get one $300

used PCM $50

basic tuning $200

motor mounts $50

headers $200-800 depending on what you want

Upgrade the fuel system, $250

It adds up in a hurry, the little things will sneak up on you. Then if you decide to add some power, well there goes the budget.

Your LT1 has a fuel pressure reg on the rail. The LS1 does not. You will either have to mod you system to a returnless system or find a 97 only Vette fuel rail (these are getting hard to find and expensive when you find one)

Also..Your LT1 tranny won't work outright without a conversion flywheel and maybe a spacer.

Most of the cost of a LS1 swap depends on what you pay for the LS1 and how complete it is. Until you find an engine, it's impossible to tell you what you will spend.

u can buy the spacer from GM and TCI makes a flexplate for early year trannys that would work. has dual bolt pattern to mate up the LT1 tranny.. My swap cost me over $3000 plus add ons.....= $5000

Yeah like headers, exhaust, suspension......I was lucky enough to have a donor car to tear everything i needed out of. I took the engine, trans.,K-member,PCM, wiring, front brakes, driveshaft, fuel lines, and fuel pump from the donor car. Do your self a favor and have Speartech re-wire the harness. it will save you time and headache.

There Wiring is not that bad..I did it all myself with a couple of Diagrams.

Here is a link to a thread where I explained it well..

Here is my Conversion Link.
I spent about $8k on my swap..it's a little more than a LS1 though..
