Nice looking swap. I like how you re did the front with the radiator? Did you cut the factory support out and put a new brace in?

Yes I cut out the radiator for the turbo that i had on the lt1. And im taking about using a 2000 tank in a 97 ta not keeping the lt1 tank. So we can run all factory ls1 lines with the reg in the tank.

Hey, did you ever try those values for the PCM in the that other thread link? Just curious if the 3/3 values solved your tach issues. I don't have any tuning software yet but would like to know how to fix my tach when the time comes.

Thanks,
Mike

Nice looking swap, I'm contemplating doing the same thing except that I'm starting with a v6 and putting in a 5.3. Was the swap to the t56 hard or was it pretty easy since you already had everything out? also I just figured I'd throw out this question lol, would I need to change my dash since it's different due to it being a v6?

T56 Swap isn't too bad to do.

I would change the Dash, up to you though.

did you have to change out any in-car harnesses ? also you were able to keep your lt1 style fuse box ? What about your rack and pinion ? Thanks

The Harness in the Car doesn't have to me changed. I kept the LT1 Style Fuse Box, but I'm **** and I re-built it and stripped out what I didnt need.

You will have to use the LS1 Rack & Pinion and the Linkage for it.

What I was referring to up there when I said Dash was the Gauge Cluster.

Yea, the Engine Harness can be re-wired to be directly plug n play into the Car. That is how mine is.

I'm re-wiring some things in my Fuse Box to suit what I need, but I managed to do everything in my Car with it all factory on the Car side. I'm just going through it to make it better.

Hey I am thinking about piggy backing computers. I am doing this same conversion and I have to get it done in a couple of days. I was thinking about just putting a some extra t's in for temperature to control fans and keep bcm and abs functional and also splicing into the crank sensor for tach output have you ever heard of this being done?? I am using an LQ4 truck motor.

Also I am doing this swap in three days how doable is that? Its my daily driver I need it.

It can be done in 3 days if you bust your *** on it. Took me 4 from a Bare Block to a running car.

You don't need to piggy-back Computers, I am only using the LS1 PCM.

when i did my front suspension on my car i put in the steering rack from a 99 trans am thinking that there was no difference in the LS rack to the LT rack. what is the difference and why do you need an LS rack when doing an LS swap?

The LS1 Rack has more of an angle where the Linkage goes into it. It puts the Linkage closer to the Fender and away from the Headers. Good upgrade even if you still have an LT1.

Here pics from when I did mine..
