LS1 Mustang: Possible to keep AC?
I've got a Mustang I'm going be in the process of bringing back to life throughout the next few months. It's a 3.8 six'r and I've been throwing around the idea of a few swaps down the road.
- Supercoupe 3.8 with the little Eaton up top
- 4.6 DOHC (Cobra or Mark VIII)
- 351W
- or drop an LSX in that *****
For the time, effort, and money involved, I might as well drop a 5.3 or LS1 in between the frame rails. My only issue is whether or not I'll still be able to use the AC. Is it possible to mesh the Ford and GM systems, like using running the lines into the LSX's compressor, or is there no way in hell this would work?
What would you folks suggest be done?

I think there is some info on this subject @ ls1mustang.com. If i rember right there was some pics of him making his mustang airbox work with the gm evaperator, and i assume using the f body lines and condersor and everything.

depends where you want to mount the compressor. the factory GM compressor mounting will hit the sway bar bracket. check out "brains" site www.ls1mustang.com lots of useful info there.
