External Fuel Pump Recomendations

What donor vehicles use this tank other than '95 impala? Does the caprice use the same tank? Do you know what years have this tank? I will have a MS3 cam and 150 wet shot. What pump do I need to support this?

Caprice and Impala are the same.. they made the Impala SS from 94-96.. but I think the last of the B-Body started in 91 and lasted until 96. There a lot of old Police version around too. 9C1 optioned Caprice's.. looking for them may also help.
Pump... the Impala SS feed a Iron version of the LT1. They will feed a stock or mild LS1 ok. Walbro 255 in tank will handle most out to 425+hp ??? Check out Racetronix.com for a B-Body pump and wire kit.. or any of the B-Body internet stores for the correct pump. I installed the Racetronix B-Body / Impala kit on my Chevelle project.

How is the fuel pressure regulated on a stock LS1?
If I keep the standard LS1 '02 fuel rail can I run a adjustable regulator for the return line? What size lines will I need to run? Will a 255lph pump handle heads/cam LS1 + 150 wet shot?

Give Combination Motorsports a call in Las Vegas, it is one of the links. That is where I order mine, they had a sale going for $155.00 shipped (pump, wiring and upgrade kit).. If they are still offering it. it is a deal..! Was simple to hook up.
I am running 3/8" input/output for the feed and 5/16" return.. u can alway go bigger. I used some Russell Quick Dis-connects (#640850 & #640860, aobut $15 each) for the lines to AN -6 lines. You can alway braze on some AN connector.
I think the 255lph will handle another 150, but suggest you get input from someone who is doing it. I am only running mid mod for a street driver.

I am using the Corvette Filter Regulator (Delco GF-822). I fab'd up my own plates using the BRP style out of 1/4" steel plate and Energy Suspension engine mounts.
If you going to use the OEM accessories (A/C, Power Steering Pump, Alternator) as I am, then BRP mount are the way to go. If your going to use After Market Accessories, the S&P mounts. S&P makes very good stuff, but costly.

Yeah cost is the most important right now. I'm probably not going to run A/C for now. Did you have to move accessoriers at all or mod the oil pan? Did you move the stock motor mount location at all (on the frame)?

I am using all OEM Accessories,For the A/C, I had to notch the frame and that was the only cutting I had to do for the frame.
I originally used the Stock F-Body pan, and it would have been ok, but leave it to me to do better.. I didn't like the 3/8" or less of clearance for the pan to x-member and teh right rear head and A/C box. I picked up a Cadillac CTS-V oil Pan from a take-off and used that to give me much more room around the frame, only con was that the pan is lower by about 1", but wayless than a truck pan. I am not slamming my car to ground, so it should be an issue, as there are other things that hang just as or lower that the pan at this time.
I am using Energy Suspension SBC Tall and Narrow engine mounts and narrowed the Frame mount by 1/2" inch, which is more than the tall and narrow mounts. I use spacer to jack the engine back and forth to center the engine and the two area of contact that I encountered. I appreciate the help. I'm going to remove the A/C box until I upgrade to a under dash setup down the road. I want to set the motor back as far as possible so I hopefully won't have pan clearance issues. I guess I can't do much more now until the motor arrives. I will pull my 350 this weekend to get ready.

I have not verified it.. but I was told 90ohm's and I think that will work with the stock Chevelle fuel gague. I have not started up my project.. as I took a two month step backward due to my Transmission. (boy am i getting good a pulling my motor and trans LOL. Stock F-Body shifter came up on my bench seat, located a Viper Trans that was converted to the LS1 input shaft. The shifter is more forward that the camaro. Trans coming in Monday).

OK. I'll look some more on the Impala forum. I will be running all autometer gauges and I wanted to order the fuel level gauge and speedo, I have the rest already. I got a Covan's Classic dash insert in the mail. I have a set of '96 Camaro buckets I will be adding to avoid those seating issues.
Thanks again. My motor and trans is getting shipped Monday I can't wait. I ripped the rest of the front of the body off last night. Will pull the motor this weekend and start to clean and paint firewall forward.

I don't know if I've asked you this, but what are you doing about your clutch master and pedals? I saw the pic of the bracket, did you make that? I have some pics I will post somewhere tonight, but it's not much right now. Just tearing everything down and getting ready for fabrication. I'm not going all the way down like you. The budget can't handle it right now. I am trying to do as much as possible. I should have a website up in the next month or so.
Oh yeah. No news on the fuel sender but I will let you know. If I had the tank already I could just hit it with the multimeter. I'll let you know when I find something out.

For the Clutch, pertty standard on what everyone else is doing. Using OEM stuff for the Slave and Master. I just converted from Auto to Manual by buying the Clutch/Brake ped (can get anywhere new/repo or used), Just welded a bracket on for the rod to attached to.
I made that master bracket. You can buy them for about $75.00 ... but me being the cheap guy, costed my some scrape and time. I use some 1/8" plate metal and cut and drilled to get it right. I pulled the size, holes and shape from the Digram from the S&P web site of there 70' LS1 install. Was not hard to make.
Yeah, buget.. been 3 years of saving and cost cutting and It's sill hard to beleive that I have spend that much on it. Body, interior, suspension, drive train. But you gotta love that $$$ pit LOL.

For those of you that used the corvette filter and regulator where did you put the filter after the regulator or behind because, I bought the walbro inline and corvette filter/regulator any help will be appreciated thanks.

the filter and regulator is one piece. the pump goes from the tank to the side with two outputs, to the 3/8" one.. the 5/16 one is the return. The single 3/8" side goes to the fuel rails.
