Well I took it to the track and ran a 1.86-60ft, 8.23-1/8, 12.89-1/4. It was wheel hopping and spinning pretty bad I was feathering it trying to get it to quit but it didn't seem to help. What kind of setup do some you guys run to get your trucks to hook. I also noticed that my bump stops for the rear axle are about 3inchs in front of the axle tubes, it is a currie bolt in 9 inch, has any one run into this before? I think the bump stops is my wheel hop problem what do you guys think? Oh yea that was on DR's too.

The Caltracs will help. How is the truck lowered and how much? I have had good luck with home made traction bars also, but I ran a 3" lowered leaf with a one inch block. Was able to get a 1.48 60' with 275/60/15 MT DR's. Also do you have any idea what your pinion angle is set at?

Its lowered 2" front and rear (2" steal blocks on rear) with the stock 3 leafs in the leaf springs, with the overload leaf taken out, don't know what the pinion angle is at this time. I plan on ordering my caltracs and some pinion angle shims tomorow. Im hoping to have the rear setup for next weekend. I think im going to take one more leaf out but still not sure on the bump stops.

Are you removing another leaf to lower it more, or to help with hooking? The more leafs you take out the more hop you will get without something like the caltracs there to stop the axle wrap. I do not think the bump stops are the problem. Also what brand of DR's are you running?

Great looking truck. I love the idea of an S10 with a V-8 in it and have always wanted to do it. It seems like it would be a blast to drive. Nice work.

You don't want the rear to be too soft. The caltracs will stop the wheel hop either way, but you will lose time will the rear is squating instead of hooking and going down the track. How was the front lowered coil or spindle? You want the front to be able to travel up to help plant the rear tires. If the truck was lowered with coil springs it will take away the stored energy in the stock height spring that would help it transfer weight.

it was lowered with coils but im thinking of going with a coilover kit from Qa1, it bolts up just like the factory shock but the coil sits on the shock and is adjustable and the top of the coil is in the stock location
