Ultimate Sleeper---PRIUS
Okay, this is the worst (and maybe best) idea ever. My friend, Tallchief, bought a prius and is in the process of converting it to a LS3-powered sun-of-a-bitch... He consulted me on whether or not to do it.
As horrible of an idea as it is... I told him to do it. It's just too funny and unique of an idea. He has already learned that the engine wont even fit... so he's in the process of overhauling the ENTIRE car... 100% of it (including the interior). I'm going to post some of the pics of the job... It is a sight!
Anybody have any thoughts on this project?

I couldn't stand to own a car that ugly for any reason, horrible idea that will cost more in money and time than a used corvette.
I am not huge into even nice looking sleepers...but there's no reason on earth for me to tolerate an ugly pile of **** unless it gets 50 mpg and is reliable. A Prius is neither and a ls3 prius even less so.

I say do it.. for no other reason than to **** off the tree huggers. I would go all out though, screw the sleeper theme. Straight exhaust, nasty cam, tub it, etc..

The Prius body is suppose to be one of the most aerodynamic production cars ever built.
Slam that som bitch to the ground and it should have some pretty good speeed potential.
Funny thing without the batteries I'll bet the conversion weights less that a stock prius.

put one of those solenoid controlled cutouts in the exhaust, and a big ol' restrictive muffler. that way, you sound like a Prius until you're ready to punch it, then flick of a switch and it's all LSX power thru straight pipes.

And the job's NOT complete until you've got a big, bold "SUCKIN' GAS & HAULIN' A$$" bumper sticker on it... Hell, screw the "sleeper" theme entirely - I wanna see an 8-71 on that beeyotch!!
Heh heh heh...

what would be even funnier is if he did a VVT-DOD engine out of a truck and managed to knock out better highway mileage.
5.3L, Lean cruise, cam specd for mileage, 2.43 rear gear...

Even better would be to take the whole hybrid system out of the new tahoe and put that in it. Only probelm is I bet it weighs a ton and it would be a pain to try to figure out how all that works.
