You know my thoughts, This thing rocks! The slow progress is just life some times. My 610 is stalled right now waiting for me to finish the A arms. Motor is all mounted. Just need time! Looks good though. Keep it up.

A man after my own heart, small car, big horsepower.

I'm doing a Volvo Duett wagon but it's probably as big as a PT cruiser, it is a 1958 coincidently. Mine's going to be a cruiser / drag car tower.

Man did you narrow that rear end. I like the strut front end also. I did that with my drag car (Geo Metro) and am really glad I did, it makes for sooo much more room up front.

How about a shot of the pedals (how close they are)? I'm having trouble shoving a brake and throttle pedal in mine and leaving room for my left foot.

Did you consider using a rear leaf spring instead of the coil overs? Just curious because it looks like the struts are using a lot of space up that you'll later regret when you go to haul Sakrete home from Home Depot.

My car is as big as a new mini. 12 feet long, and about 5 feet wide. That volvo is going to be pretty sick when it's done, do you have any pics?

I considered doing leaf springs and solid axle but i like the adjustability of the coilovers. Plus, there's a weight advantage as well The only thing this car is going to haul is some serious ***.

I'll get a shot of the pedals for you in a couple days. I just used a wilwood pedal setup.

Wow, and you even have an extra pedal to squeeze in there. I like the frame a lot.

Here's the Volvo from months ago but it doesn't look too much different aside from being pretty close to completion.

And for giggles here's my other little car.

Default Fired up!!

Got it fired up today. Still lots to do, but you guys all know the feeling you get when you find out everything works and the motor actually starts up. Sounds pretty mean, the video doesnt do it justice though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVm0JODIpHg

On a similar note, the oil pressure is pretty low. About 25 psi at idle (1300 rpm, cold), and about 50 psi when i revved it up. Using autometer phantom gauges. I didnt run the engine for more than what you saw in the video.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are you need to lay off the gym if you plan on actually fitting in that thing remotely comfortably! Lol

A good rule of thumb for minumum oil pressure needed is 10 psi for each thousand rpm with the engine and oil up to operating temperature. Example: 10psi @ 1000 rpm, 50psi @ 5000rpm, etc.

BTW - Crazy sic build! Enjoy the pics of all the custom fab. Be safe in that thing....

I wasnt able to get it on video, but i took my dad for a ride around the block today. He's the whole reason i built this car, and today was his last day before back home to peru (he called this his farewell tour).

I had no radiator, just a ghetto return pipe from water pump back into itself. My dad was holding the gauges, no windshield, no seat belts or gear shift ****, and we were sorting out electrical gremlins between starts in the driveway. Regardless, took it down the street, gave it a little gas and the whole thing threw us back in our seats. Drove around the block, and on the way back, at 2nd gear and probably about 15-20 mph (no speedo) i punched it. The whole car pitched sideways and moved over half a lane before i eased off and turned down my street.

It needs a few things, but it's pretty much there! All this work is finally paying off...
