coolant flow direction ???

Greetings all!! Putting in an LS1 into a volvo wagon, I plan to use the factory volvo pressurized coolant expansion tank, and heater system. I need to know which one of the two heater pipes that come out of the water pump is the feed and which one is the return from the heater. Also I like to know which radiator hose connection is the cool water return to the engine from the radiator? The one by the thermostat? or the one on top of the water pump. Thanks again !!!

On the heater hoses, smaller is into the heater, larger is the return line. On the radiator hoses, top is into the engine, bottom is return line (reverse cooled).

So on the radiator the top hose is cool water coming back to the engine, and the lower hose is hot water coming from engine to the rad, ?? correct?

LSx engines aren't reverse cooled like an LT1.

Generally a easy way to remember is that most system with one hose smaller than the other.. the small one will be the pressure side and the larger one will be the return.. your heater core, AC system and power steering system are all examples of this.
