Default How much gain from LS1 to LS6 intake

How much gain from LS1 to a LS6 intake can you expect to get? Looks to be one of the most popular mods. Also I see Brothers Brand intakes on ebay for around $399 but I never here about them in the forums, are they any good or better than a stock LS6 intake sence they only seem to be about $75 more than a used LS6 intake? Any advice would be great.

Thanks,
Grant

10-15 horspower is what I recall reading. Depends on what else is done to the motor or what you plan to do in the future. You might get more answers over on the Gen III External Engine mods forum. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine-6/

Be aware that the '01 and '02 LS1's had the LS6 intake. It's only the earlier years that didn't have them.

LS6 intake is worth a tenth reduction over a stock LS1 intake. Well worth it.

Default next step up

Don't mean to hijack the thread but the next logical question is what is the next step up from an LS6 intake for a relatively stock LS1?

The FAST LSX intakes...but if the LS1 is relatively stock, then just keep with the LS6 intake....just IMO...

Default Fast intake

That is a big jump cost-wise! Were the Fast 75mm intakes worth any gain over the LS6?

there will no EGR passage into the intake...thats the main one...and the underside of the LS6 intake will be flat.....

I have LS1 or LS6 intake but I can not tell which one it is. Here is a few pictures. I'm thinking it is just a LS1 intake.

BAD CHAD, whats the part number on that intake?

This is what I found on a search here:

The old LS1 intake with the EGR setup is 12560688.

The Stock 2001-2002 F-body LS6 is 12561184.

The Z06 LS6 is 12573572.

Now as to the reasoning on the different part numbers between the two LS6 intakes for the F-bods and Z06....I have no freakin clue??

EGR hole on an LS1 intake is at the front of the intake right behind the throttlebody on the top

ZO6 is drive-by-wire, has no provision for throttle cable bracket mounting, that's why there are 2 different part numbers

that's an LS1 intake, it has no EGR hole because it came off a Vette...

Is it possible to add the provision for throttle cable bracked mounting to the Z06 intake? What has to be added and are the parts available?
