Transmission Details
The transmissions is a Powerglide with a 1.80 first gear. It has all billet internals, a 3500 stall converter, a J.W. Ultrabell, and a TCI transbrake. The driveshaft is a 3” chromemoly with forged ends and a Strange billet yoke. BMR helped us out with getting our driveshaft built in a hurry…Thanks guys!!!

Engine Installation & Dyno Data
As I stated earlier, the engine is a Mast Motorsports LSX 454 SS. We wanted to debut this package at the LSX Shootout and it the week goes as planned it looks like we will. The engine was finally finished being calibrated and the engine came off of the dyno on Friday. This should make for a stout package on the motor. The pictures of the engine in the car as well as the engine dyno data is listed below:
This 691HP/597TQ is on a stock, untouched LS7 intake manifold and is naturally aspirated.

Sorry about the late response, but we finally got back home from Memphis at 8AM on Monday since our shop truck got runner up in the LSX Shootout Truck Class.
As for Scraps, it went 10.80s off the trailer and finally wound up with a best of 10.41@130MPH for the weekend. We are certain that there is more in the car and are planning another track outing very soon.
The only problem that we had was a burned wire that made our true street cruise end early. However, we were able to get it running again and make our three passes for True Street though we didn't get scored.
We were really pleased with the weekend and how our Malibu, 1968 Truck, and RX-7 ran, especially, the Malibu considering it was on a crusher scale 60 days ago.
Thanks to Bobby Bates of Lufkin, TX for coming over and helping us get Scraps together in a pinch for Memphis.

Scraps is getting the LSX 454 SS pulled out tonight and is getting our LS7 427 SS installed. Weather permitting, we are going to be at the track this weekend. Hopefully, we'll have some track numbers from that crate engine as well.
Below is the engine dyno data from the Mast Motorsports LS7 427 SS:
Thanks for all of the compliments!!! A LOT of people had heard about this car and it received a bunch of attention and fan fare.

Engine Teaser
Here are some teaser pics of the engine going together. Damon now has the interior in the car and is working on detail work until the engine is done. Our engine builders are working on the engine as I type this and it is scheduled to go onto the dyno on Friday. We are using a Moroso LS Series oil pan on this engine. This pan uses a remote mount filter and seems to be a nice so far. We will see how we like it once we run it.
Shown in the picture below is the windage tray and pickup that you use with the Moroso oil pan.

What headers and where did your mount your filter?

We used a 2" primary header and mount kit from the guys over at BRP Hot Rods.

They are a really nice piece. We are working on getting together some dyno numbers on these headers. Scraps is supposed to go to the track this weekend...weather permitting.
