anybody know what part number the electric sender is that works with part number 2277?? i had one on a camaro but i had to drill out the 2277 so the sender would slide through it

I also found this thread helpful, but I was unable to find an adaptor for my sender application and I had to cut this particular Gordian Knot (so to speak)...
I had a set of VDO Cockpit series gauges/senders from my previous (old school/Ramjet 350) engine and the sender housing was much too large to fit an adaptor. I solved this by taking the sender to a machinist friend of mine and having him machine the threaded area of the sender to 12MMx1.5 on a lathe. He also made me a berylium copper washer. Here's some pics:

That picture is for the block. The part on the far left is a block plug drilled out and tapped with a 1/2 NPT.
The block has a heater plug on either side. One under #3 cylinder and the other back by the starter

Hmm I wonder if the 5.3 is different. Mine has a big plug on the drivers side under number 4 and a small one up front by the timing cover and a a small one on the passenger side the is facing up and down back by the starter. So is the big one under #4 the one im going to want to use???????

The PCM needs to see the stock LS1 sensor, so you need to keep that one in the driver's side head. I drilled and tapped the passenger head and put an original sensor there. There's a company that makes new sensors that put out the same response as the originals but for some reason I can't think of the name right now.
