The box frame under the cab has nothing to do with the motor fitment and yes i am aware of this difference. I happen to sell the 85 frame the other day and we did a little looking and there are some very slight differences for manifold and starter clerance like some others said. Either way it is an easy swap.

I'd like to swap my s10. Mine is a 93 tahoe 2wd (black qrille, painted bumpers)....2.8 v6 with a 5 speed. I'd like to swap in a stockish 5.3 efi and i'd like to maintain a 5 speed. I've read the s-10 t5's are kind of weak to back a v8, but a t56 would not be an option. I'd be plenty happy with 300 horses and a 5 speed in my old truck.
