Default X-Brace info needed...

Hey guys, I searched on here and have heard of the SLP replacement X-Brace for convertibles that allow the use of longtubes (because of the y-pipe), but since the part is not sold anymore, I cannot find info in regards to if it was for automatics only, or if it will work with a T56?

Honestly, if someone has a picture of the thing it would be greatly appreciated, as I have seen pics on the one red car posted by "Xsta Z 28", but you really can't see much in teh way of the actual brace itself.

For reference I am looking to put a set of FLP longtubes on my '95 Z28 convertible when I replace the motor later this month, and I know I have the large x-brace piece used with T56s and am pretty sure it will not fit with the y-pipe and am looking for other options. I really want the car to remain as stiff as possible and already have a set of subframes on the car. If I can't find any pics or anything else I will be forced to fab something myself, which, while not insurmountable, is something I would rather not do as an engineering exercise. I mean, if I am going to do that I might as well come up with a complete under-car crossbracing setup to really stiffen the chassis.

That factory stamped POS does nada, zilch, nothing...

Subframe connectors and a DSL will add some rigidity.

I deleted the X finally and did notice a little more
body shake. But I have had one of the SLP X-braces
and it (a) didn't fit the mounting holes (no more than
three of the four could be lined up) and (b) interfered
badly with both my old SLP Y-pipe and worse with
the Jet-Hot LTs/Y.

You can just ditch it. Or, from the look of SLP's, fab
one that would actually fit for about $20 in bar-stock
"drops" from the local steel yard and a buzz box.

I also havent had an X-brace for 2-3 years ever since i had my TSP exhaust/ and pacesetter headers. the stock x-brace DID very little for rigidity.
