Default Need a new top

Ok, so it is time. I still have the original top on the vert from 98 so it is time to get a new one. Anyone got any recommendations? If I did it myself any advice? Thanks

Nice. I have a 2000 NBM with tan interior and top. Which one matches the factory top? Tan? Lt. Neutral? Beige? I'm guessing the Tan cloth? The factory tan top is canvas, correct?

Edit: Dur. Just read the Tops On Line page a bit closer....
Factory material for all colors except White is Stayfast Cloth, only White color top came with Pinpoint Vinyl from factory.

Nevermind.

I replaced my top myself. I got the top from an ebay seller that included an instructional dvd that shows the process on a Firebird. Once you watch the dvd a couple of times, the job does not seem so intimidating at all. Get an electric staple gun from Lowes or Wal-Mart. They cost about $30. You don't need the heavy duty kind, just the ones that shoot the usual 1/2" staples.

Allow yourself a full day, mainly because you will be glueing stuff down, then pulling it up and redoing it because you find places where you can make it better. But it is really not that bad. Other than the staple gun, no special tools are needed.

LOL!!! Exactly what happened the last time I posted about this.

I actually ended up sending it to another user on this site. I wasn't able to copy the dvd at the time so I just sent him the disk. PM future_z_owner. Maybe he still has the one I sent him and can copy it for you.

this summer my rear window fell out. It ripped alot of the top and I was really bummed out. My dad sticked it together and glued the window back in place but he said I need a new top in a year. Thanks for telling me about that site and it's nice to know others have been in the same spot as me

I replaced my rear window curtain with the tops on line product. Other than the pain of the monkey snot on all over the rail holding the rear of the top/window in place, and the fact that I had to remove the center rivit to get the old one out, it really wasn't that hard of a job. I used a manual staple gun too. The rest of the top is next, but it's holding up pretty well (which is why I didn't do it all at once).
