Power antenna howling - fix

Default Power antenna howling - fix

The howling of the power antenna with the top down at highway speed was pissing me off. The problem is that the antenna goes up whenever the radio is on, even if you are listening to a CD or iPod.

I installed a switch so that I can control the antenna manually, and it makes a HUGE difference in being able to hear the stereo while cruising with the top down.

All you have to do is put a switch in the pink antenna signal wire. It's located at pin #8 on the black 10-pin connector at the back of the radio. Another guy asked the same question, I thought is should be posted in the convertible section:

Yup.. Did that when I installed the antenna on my Camaro.
