I put up a post in the stereo an electronics section, but no response over there so I thought I would post here as well. I am replacing the rear speakers and using a spacer so the magnet will clear the top. I dont know what to do with the big wiring harness that runs along the speaker on each side though. What should I do with it? Here is a link to the other thread with pics. Thanks!

Edit: I trimmed the spacer to the width of the speaker, but it still wont allow the wiring harness in there as well.

Not sure how much help I can be since I haven't changed out those rear speakers in my car. My suggestions would be to 1.) trim the spacer ring to fit around the wire harness going by the speakers or 2.) get some power tools and make the slot for the wire harness bigger so the harness can fall further down out of the way of the spacer ring. My personal opinion would be to trim the speaker ring though as it should be easier to work on outside of the car. Hope that helps a little.

The spacer is trimmed to the size of the speaker. Normally the harness sits almost over top of the the speaker at the very top. With a 3/4" spacer it can not do that. With the spacer in place the harness comes up over the cover on the plastic body panels so widening the slot wouldnt really help with that.

Well that sucks. Sorry I was unable to help and I don't have my car with me right now so I can't open it up to look at it. Hope you can get it figured out.
