Default Headers

What headers are you vert guys using? I know the slp's will not fit the verts.

Lower priced headers = BBK 1 3/4" long tube coated or chrome and they come with the ORY too. (pace setters, ebay stainless, and other lower priced too)
Medium priced headers = Texas Speed Stainless 1/ 7/8" and ORY
High priced headers = American Racing Stainless 1 7/8" and ORY

I went with the BBK's first in coated but never installed them, as I was able to get the Texas Speed stainless for just a lil more at the time, they fit like a glove. ORY fits ok, nothing special. Very pleased with them overall.

YMMV!

PS- SLP's seem to have a lot of negative feedback overall, not vert specfic.

I had Jet-Hot long tubes on there for a while, the Y-pipe
was a real POS as far as fit and merge quality go. And
the coating is flaking pretty nicely on the headers. Not
recommended.

I have SLP's. As mentioned they have issues, they hang low and I had to modify the Y-pipe to keep it from banging the floor. There was some do nothing brace I removed too.

I have the rare Edelbrock step header and ORY; I don't have them in yet so I can't offer an info on fitment.

Default Slp

I have the SLP old-style "tuned length" headers with their catted Y on my 2002 vert and have had zero issues. At first I thought they hung a little too low, but I replaced my worn out shocks with Bilstein Sports and now I don't even bottom out on speed bumps.

I'm running the same and have had zero issues. I'm lowered on the Prokit, and don't think I've ever scraped the headers.

I honestly dont know too many people (around here) running hooker headers at all. I am the only one. No idea why, they fit like a glove. I had 1 3/4's on my old motor and no fitment issues there either. I do love my hookers
