Looks like the poll is closed. I had a 99 Firebird Vert M6 WS6 that I bought with about 40k miles on it and sold it with 90k miles on it. That was about 3 years ago and while I love my CTS, I never got over the 99. Just yesterday I agreed to purchase an identical 02 Firebird Vert M6 WS6 with 6,950 miles on it. I am 68 years old so I think this one will last the rest of my driving years. It is really nice to be back on LS1Tech!

Well from the looks of it, I have you all beat. I have 225k and counting on the WS6 vert. I drive it all the time and like you all its my solid cruiser. I have the car I don't drive and just look at it and this vert is MADE to be enjoyed!. I have just a few very solid mods, full exh with borla so it sounds sooo nice and deep with top up or down, wire mod, coil covers, hood latch cover, MAF, suspension and C5 Z06 brakes. Since its a 01 its one of the last and with LS6 stock intake and 241 heads. I bought it in 3/12 with 190k and I drive it. I took valve covers off and closed my eyes and WOW it was sooo clean. It was well maintained. I'm the second owner.
I will NOT sell this car, it is very tight with subframes so no rattles. I kept the original shock springs set up and rims. So returning to org ride height is zero problem and yet look stock.
I agree, you have to leave these almost stockish with tasteful mods. I do plan to do a complete resto on it at some point but for now its my cruiser.
What I love most is the NBM with Tan top and tan int. I've yet to see a vert in this combo. Tan is rare enough and in a vert...nice

Bought my 2002 Light Pewter Metallic SS Z28 new from dealer in Sept. 2013. Dealer had never titled it, he just drove it on nice days and stored it at the dealership. So when
I bought it I got the GM Certificate of Origin, not a title. Therefore I am the original owner of a perfect eleven year old car. One of 88 made in this combo. Just going to do Corsa or Borla Catbacks and SLP, K&N or Volant air lid. Recommendation ? 24K mile on

No problem. From that same issue magazine: 516 WS6 models were automatics in 2001. The regular or base T/A convertibles were even less!! Only 81 6 speeds and 315 automatics were built. Very few people were buying 2001 Trans Am convertibles anymore with prices well over $30,000 back then. Mine was over $33,000 for a regular model. I would have had to add on another $3,000 for a WS6. The final year numbers in 2002 were just slightly higher. With natural attrition, and the cars getting up there in age, we are all driving rather uncommon cars in these 'verts. In 10 more years, imagine the few that will be on the road.

Really! wow...my 01 WS6 6spd vert is NBM. I understand that the tan is even more rare. As mine is tan top/int. I recall seeing my original window sticker in the car that shows I think 37k or 38k. Its folded in the glove box. I still get thumbs up in it at the gas station. What stops people is my 30th, pictures all the time, parking lots, gas stations and driving. I had someone stop oncoming traffic, hang out the car to take a pic.
My new dilemma is the 68 GTO project goes into the garage or does the vert?

DaddySS, is there another zero on the end or is the comma in the wrong place? Thanks for bringing this thread back from the 'long forgotten' last year.
HAWKVERT, that is one gorgeous example!
