Default Our FL trip in the T/A 'vert (pics)

Escaped the snow here and visited a relative down in Boca Raton, and then went to the Keys. Nice warm 'topless' driving. Here are some photos taken in Boca, Marathon, and Key West (click on each one a few times to enlarge):

i was an 80's wild child cruising in a 74 GTO which had the trans am shaker. pontiac motors were the same size 326 upto 455 so i dropped a 455 in with 71 -400 heads for higher compression , mild cam & headers. fire engine red w centerlines. my X got that in the divorce ouch! oh back to the song, to be fair the trans ams had a 400 engine vs camaros only a 350 back then. IEATZ28!

Oh, and Garlits' museum is awesome! My dad's cousin's '55 gasser was in there for awhile. Gold "Mr.Chevy"

I'll be driving mine from Milwaukee to Panama City Beach Friday. I'm stoked. End of last summer I drove it to Boston. I love road trips in my car.

Also, since you are halfway there already, put an Arizona Route 66 trip on that bucket list. We did that last year in our other 'vert. Incredible!

Interesting you said Boston. We are hopefully hitting New Bedford and Cape Cod in our T/A just after Labor Day this year (when the prices fall).

Have a great trip to Panama Beach! The panhandle is really nice, even though a bit busy this time of year. I can see you cruising with the top down already. Does anything beat convertible driving along the coast?? Well, maybe the Blue Ridge Pkwy

A cruise to the keys would be pretty BA!

I think a full on route-66 tour would be cool too. Someone on my Jeep forum did it a year or two ago - a lot of the route is basically gone now, difficult to find (hence going in a 4x4).

Very true, but this part near Oatman, AZ is still outstanding. If you can stomach our Mustang 'vert, here is a link with photos throughout the thread.

Well it wasn't all that fun since I blew my rear dif in Montgomery AL and had to tow it to FL... Fixed it and drove it back though Yea Boston was a blast of a drive. Upper NY state is beautiful. Stop at Niagara Falls if you go.

As for a convertible trip, US 129 the Tail of the Dragon. Best drive I've ever done. 11miles 318 curves. I took my car there maybe a month after I bought it and it was stock. I can't wait to go now that I have a bunch done.

Here's a pic that I made front page on one of the photographers website with.

LOL, that pic is hillarious. I can tell by the angle of the long axis of the banana that you are pulling some lateral Gs there.

BTW, I just noticed you have what appears to be a silver '98 WS6. If you are interested in getting your ASC#, PM your VIN to me and I'll look it up.

Streetlegal? That is too funny. I can't believe you made that effort.
We sure love the Tail of the Dragon too. Lost count on how many times we have done it with every one of our cars since we live so close. Also the Cherohala Skyway. Here we are 'goofing off' for the photo guys too with a stuffed toy dragon.
