Absolutely. I put a 3 point on my 99 Vert along with weld in subframe connectors. I would have them in my 02 Vert except I may be selling it as a super low mileage ultra original car. If I decide to keep her, she will absolutely be getting SFCs and a STB.

I'm not sure what you mean by too stiff for a street car. Neither SFC or STB will increase the stiffness of the suspension. They make the chassis more rigid. If anything that will improve the ride since it keeps the flex in the shock absorbers where it belongs.

I have both weld in SFC's and a 2pt STB on mine and they definitely help.
Definitely wont make the ride stiffer (that's the job of all the other crap I've thrown on the car...) but those two reinforcements help your suspension do it's job better by minimizing flex as mentioned earlier.

Not sure about the SFC weight. The 3-point chrome molly one is $100 more and weighs 5lbs less.
It's not a tremendous amount of weight. The added chassis rigidity is more than worth the slight weight penalty. On acceleration chassis flex wastes energy bending the car that would otherwise get to the ground to push the car.

I found no significant change to the way my car rode. The biggest benefit to me (on my 99) was that the car would last longer. I had a 91 Z28 Vert that I failed to add these upgrades to. Over the years, it literally vibrated itself to death. Screws came loose inside the doors and all over the car. I am convinced that had I put these two upgrades on that car, I might still have it today. I still consider it to be the best looking car of it's kind that GM ever built.

The only difference between the weld-in and bolt-in UMI braces is the bolt hardware. They can easily be welded in later.
