Default anyone have problems with the top bubbling up?

My mom wants to get a 01 conv. SS. I told her to watch out b/c every convertable f-body I see has the top lifting up on them. Like a huge bubble. Do they all do that? Can it be prevented?

Mine is solid. I guess the internal fabric pockets that
hold the roof skin to the bows are pulling out or rotting
out. Don't know why it would, but I see it around on
these and other cars.

Tops do wear out and need replaced; the more the car
looks to have been garaged and not weather-beaten, the
better the odds I think.

if the top is in good condition it's air tight.. if you see the ragtop design and the deep seal you'll see...

mine is a 95 and i have asked many of my friends if it did the same and all tell me no... when I had my car broken into and they cut my top I had it replaced... when it was being replaced i asked about it bubbling up over time and they told me the reason they do that i because people drop or put up the top while driving and that breaks the supports inside that hold the top down...

I've had my T/A convert. for 3 years now. The top is as perfect as the day I bought it, many people have complimented on the quality of my convertible top. No problems here.

Don't drive convertibles at high speed with the top up and the windows down . . .

yeah.....my 98 did that!!! it bubbled up because of the factory seams arent stitched, they're glued...and with the heat in miami, they wore down and lost there grip....its not expensive if you re-fit it, but i had a new top installed and that was around $600-$700...

No problems here. Even with the heat my top looks perfect and no bubbles.
