Default got sfc in

I just got my BMR SFC put on. I expected the car to be stiffer and harsher ride. Actually, it is more solid but rides better! It's almost like the body was abosrbing the shock before where now it is going thru the springs/shocks as it's supposed to, Just wanted to let those know who haven't done it yet. Cost me 95bux after tax. I bolted them on the back and used bungee cords to hold em up to the muffler shop. The price also included welding up a leak I had in the exhaust and moving an 02 bung plug. This was done at Meineke muffler

I have the bmr weld on tubular. Yeah I thought things would be rougher but it has made for a much better ride. It's almost like the body has more give than the supension so thats where the absorbtion went...no it goes into the shocks/springs. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long now. Hell I have had em since may.

6 point will make it much more stiffer, because it connects the front and rear of the car together. The 4 point just is a box of steel in the back of the car, it doesnt tie in the front.

I put the bmr convertible subframes on my 96 vert and sorry but they didn't seem to do squat to the car.On my 97 and current 99 t top cars I went with kenny brown double diamond subframe connectors and they seem to really make a difference.I am tempted to cut the bmr off the car and still might if think can do it without making a big mess. They are welded on there good of course.
I really recommend spending the extra for the kenny brown or does slp make some really pricey vert subframe connectors that bolt on.Those might be good too. Also wasn't too impressed I got the ls1 connectors from bmr when I needed the lt1 ones by mistake .I modified the bmr ones to work. Not much to mod but still they screwed up.If you guys like your bmr well great.

Where can I find the Kenny Brown SFCs? I have a convertible and the BMR one does looks too flexible to be of much use.

I think if you look thru the sponsors you will find them. They are more money than the bmr but you get what you pay for sometimes.

I have heard conv dont need them like a t-top.

I spent the last 3 weeks checking everwhere for some. After going to all the local speed shops, they say 'maybe you can find them on-line'.

I checked a post earlier and someone had a conv up on a lift. The conv. have a built in sfc. I have heard that conv NEED them.. now what is it?
Good mod or not?

KBDD's here, expensive but well worth it for the quality of product. The shocks are definitiely doing the work rather than the body as before. I wish I hadnt waited so long either

Do you still need them with a 6 point bar? To me they seem a bit redundant at that point and you know we all have to be concerned about weight with these tanks.

I have the GWs, and agree: great mod.

I put SLP weld on SFC's on the 96 and it improved the ride and handling tremendously. The car was alot stiffer...no more body twist over RR tracks.

The flexion isn't in the back half of the car though, that's mainly why you didn't notice a difference. I notice a substantial difference when I put in my removable door bar.

Yes, you do need them with a 6 point bar. Your chassis is comparable to a wet noodle. The SFC running on the underside of the car creates a triangle like structure, i.e. the car is supported on all sides, top and bottom. SFC's will also help support the LCA mounts.

Madman (the resident chassis builder here on this site) will tell you the same thing.
